Update on Sprinkler Systems

The Board of Directors has been interviewing contractors to replace Proscape. So far we have talked with Piscataqua Landscape in Eliot and Salmon Falls Nursery and Landscaping in Berwick. We expect to hear back from them next week on a cost to replace Proscape to provide our sprinkler services in:

  • the common areas along Styles in front of the Community Center, along the parking lot, and in front of 15 and 17 Spring Pond Circle and adjacent areas, paid for by Spring Pond Estates Homeowners Association.
  • individual homeowner systems with separate contracts

The Board expects that the landscape contractor who is awarded the contract for the Community Center and the common areas will also provide the best price and quality services to individuals. We will tell you as soon as the Board has made a selection.

  • A list of homeowners who have sprinkler systems formerly maintained by Proscape has been provided to Piscataqua and Salmon Falls.
  • If you receive an offer and proposed contract from them, the Board recommends that you wait to see who the winner is for the common areas, anticipating the best price and services to come from the winner selected by the Board.
  • However, each homeowner is free to choose anyone they prefer.
  • If you have a recommendation, or have already committed with someone else, please contact Sally LeMon, Chair of the Landscape Committee.
Thanks for your patience!

March Board Meeting Minutes

Spring Pond Estates Homeowners Association

Board of Directors Meeting

March 8, 2021

IN MEMORIAM  - President Sally LeMon lead the Board in a moment of silence in honor of the passing of two of our neighbors and friends, Tony Zaccagnino and Ed Maney.

PRESIDENT - President Sally LeMon called the meeting to order at 6:19 PM with Vice President Sally Hudgins absent and all other Board Members in attendance.

RECORDING SECRETARY - Recording Secretary El Rotsko asked if there were any questions or changes to the November 9, 2020 minutes. Board Member Lee Page made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by President Sally LeMon. (Minutes on file for review).

TREASURER - Treasurer Joe Strazzere reported we fell under budget for the month of January, 2021 but the occurrence of several snow storms found us over budget for the month of February, 2021. He also expected us to be over budget for the month of March due to bills related to the snow clean up and maintenance. He also noted that Patten Landscaping will be able to have a full crew working this year. (Detailed Treasurer report on file for review).

BY-LAWS/COVENANTS - President LeMon reported for Chairperson Sally Hudgins that she will be submitting a report of the By-Law & Covenants Committee at next month’s meeting.

LANDSCAPING - Chairperson Sally LeMon inquired as to whether there were funds available in the annual clean-up fund to cover Winter and Spring clean-ups.  Treasurer Strazzere stated we still have a sufficient balance left on account to cover these expenses.

LONG RANGE PLANNING - Chairperson Joe Strazzere reported he anticipated committee meetings would resume after vaccines have been distributed.

MAINTENANCE - Chairperson Lee Page reported that he and his committee will be addressing several repairs that occurred during the extreme wind storms we recently experienced. Details of those repairs will be reported at next month’s meeting.

SOCIAL - The Board happily acknowledged the great work Chairperson Deb Strazzere  and her committee have been doing to keep our spirits high and that we all look forward to the “sweet surprises” we are gifted on the first Tuesday of each month. She also noted that the light at the end of the tunnel seemed hopeful in reference to the pandemic and vaccine distributions, and may in turn allow us the opportunity to gather together for a Memorial Day celebration at our Community Center (Updates to follow).

OLD BUSINESS - President LeMon noted she would continue to monitor the sewer system situation located at the corner of Styles Lane and Spring Pond Circle.

Motion to adjourn at 6:43 PM was made by El Rotsko, seconded by Lee Page.

Respectfully Submitted, El Rotsko, Recording Secretary, SPEHOA
