Some Sad News

We have just received some very sad news regarding the recent passing of our neighbor and friend, Russell J. Baker of 12 Ruch Lane. Born in Bangor, ME on October 13, 1938, Russ is survived by his wife Sandra, his two stepsons, Daniel Stevens of Minot, ME and David Stevens and his wife Claire, along with his grandson Treanor, all of Arlington, Virginia.

Russ served in the United States Air Force and was decorated with a Purple Heart. He was also awarded a Silver Start with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and received his Masters Degree from Columbia University.

Russ was a Shrine Mason and after joining our community served as President of the Spring Pond Estates Homeowners Association. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including marathon running, fly fishing, and notably as an avid big game hunting enthusiast.

A private service will be held in Vermont at a future date. Donations to the Shriner's Children's Hospital may be made in Russ's memory. Donation forms can be found on their website at LoveToTheRescue.org and their mailing address is The Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. If preferred, your donations can also be made online.

Attention All Spring Pond Gardeners

On Saturday June 5th, our Community will be holding a Plant Share Day. Come and drop off any extra plants (outdoor or inside plants) and unneeded planters and pots you might have. And pick up something for your garden that you don't already have.

We wanted to let you know about this now, while things are popping up and we are all thinning out our plants.

If you are sharing, it may be helpful to label plants with their names and best location for planting (sun, shade, etc.).

Date: Saturday, June 5th

Time: 11:00 - 1:00

Location: Outside the Community Center

More info to come. Any questions, contact Deb Strazzere.
