August Board Meeting Minutes

SPRING POND ESTATES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

AUGUST 8, 2022

President Bill Bannister called the meeting to order with all Board Members present

The Minutes of the June Meeting were accepted as read.

The Treasurer’s Report was accepted as presented (Report on File for review)

The Board, acting as the Architectural Committee, approved a request by the owners of 6 Spring Pond Circle to make some repairs to trim and railings which they will do themselves.

President Bannister reported that there were no updates concerning the Bylaws and Covenants, but there would be some in the near future.

Landscaping Chair Jane Brown reported that the remainder of John Patten’s crew has finally arrived. They still have work to do, including trimming. She also reported that the committee has been working on updating information that will go into the Welcoming Committee Packet and will review the material with the Welcoming Committee. Members of the Board raised concerns that the number of applications of Weed and Feed on the lawns likely need to be increased, and asked the Chair to contact Dogwood Tree Company about that. They also asked her to start a dialog with Patten about a long-term solution to improve our lawns. They noted that the small amount of soil under the lawns is a major culprit, and any long-term solution could be costly. The Board wants to discuss this further at the September meeting.

Joe Strazzere reported that the Long-range Planning Committee has contacted Engineering Companies to help us develop a long-range plan, and he hopes to able to hire a company soon.

Maintenance Chair Lee Page reported that he is working on several issues including patchwork to repair rock salt damage, repairing asphalt cracks, changing heat -exchange filters, and cleaning the A/C condensers.

The next upcoming Social Event is an Ice Cream Social at 6:30 on August 18. Homeowners on Styles and Orin Lanes have also been invited.

The Welcoming Committee is working on updating the material which will be given to new owners.

The Board is having on-going discussions concerning the status of the Community Center Building.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
