SPEHOA ANNUAL BOARD MEETING
JUNE 8, 2021
Upon completion of the Directory and Committee Volunteer updates, the annual meeting was called to order at 3:10 PM. President Sally LeMon thanked all Spring Pond Estates homeowners for attending and asked that there be a moment of silence in memory of three of our longtime friends and neighbors, Tony Zaccagnino of 10 Ruch Lane, Ed Maney of 20 Spring Pond Circle and Russ Baker of 12 Ruch Lane.
President LeMon asked that the Recording Secretary’s minutes from last June’s annual meeting be reviewed. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as written. Motion was unanimously passed (Minutes on file for review).
Treasurer Joe Strazzere presented his annual report and also reviewed his 2021/2022 budget summary. A voice vote was taken and the budget was unanimously approved as presented. The annual report was also accepted (Detailed reports on file for review).
Architectural Chairperson Jane Laughton reported on three applications that were submitted for review. As of this writing, one application has been Board approved.
The remaining two will be presented to the Board of Directors for their review at their next monthly meeting (Architectural report on file for review).
By-laws/Declaration Committee Chairperson Sally Hudgins reported on the by-laws and covenants status stating the committee is in the process of finalizing their task and will present their recommendations to the Board for their review.
Election Chairperson Pat Mirisola reported that the 2021 election results to fill three Board positions have been tabulated, noting Bill Bannister was elected President, Bob Milbury will hold the position of Vice President, and Joe Strazzere will maintain his position as Treasurer.
Landscaping Chairperson Sally LeMon reported on several projects that have been completed over the past year including replacing Proscape Sprinkler Systems with Rainmaker Irrigation Company (Detailed report on file for review).
Maintenance Committee Member Bob Milbury reported on behalf of Chairperson Lee Page in his absence and reviewed several projects that have been addressed over the past year. The list included our asphalt sealing project along with servicing the fire safety sprinkler system at our Community Center (Detailed report on file for review).
Snowplowing Chairperson Jane Laughton reported on several services that had been completed over the season noting the distribution of twelve sand barrels. She added that due to the mild Winter, there were approximately ten plowable snow storms for the entire season (Detailed report on file for review).
Social Committee Chairperson Deb Strazzere thanked her committee members for their assistance in providing a bright spot for all our residents. The goodies, the traveling smile and the ongoing comradery all helped to lift our spirits while coping with the difficulties of the past year.
Welcoming Committee Chairperson Pat Mirisola reported that on September 18, 2021 the committee met with Eula (Midge) Grimes of 19 Ruch Lane and officially welcomed her to our community.
Website Chairperson Joe Strazzere reported there has been a favorable response to the SPEHOA informational website since its July, 2014 inception and that the website has been beneficial towards keeping our community up to date with pertinent information, as well as current events and activities held at our community center.
President LeMon notified SPEHOA members that D. F. Richard Energy Company will offer a fixed price of $1.95 through April 30, 2022. For any number of gallons paid in advance of the heating season by July 31, 2021, the cost offered will be $1.90 per gallon (D.F. Richard letter on file for review).
It was noted that Pat & Bob Mirisola along with Sue & Bill Bannister had recently visited our dear friend and former neighbor, Nancy Winograd and passed on Nancy’s heartfelt warmest regards to her Spring Pond Estates family.
In closing, Sally LeMon acknowledged Anita Haskell with appreciation and gratitude for her efforts in continuing the Food Bank Donation Project adding a special thank you to the Board and Committee Members for their contributions and support during her term as President of the Spring Pond Estates Homeowner’s Association.
Motion to adjourn was made and seconded. Meeting adjourned at 3:50 PM.
